Hauwai was delivered in partnership with Taranaki Whanui , bringing together Iwi and Crown to deliver an affordable housing response to the housing needs of community. Wellington's first KiwiBuild project, the 1 and 2-bedroom apartments were affordably priced, with excellent amenity and were sold first to iwi on a pre-release basis, then was opened to both KiwiBuild and open market sales. The KiwiBuild ballot was extremely popular.
